I have lost my business
Answer1:I feel for everyone who has lost their business during this recession. Good luck in finding new employment, I know how hard it is not having qualifications etc. I am in the same boat.
Answer2:If you really want a high paying job unfortunately you will need academic qualifications, my partner is in a similar situation, he has the academic qualifications but not a full work experience and he is having a lot of trouble finding a job, every employer says the same thing, not enough work experience so I would imagine they will tell you the same in relation to the academic experience as they are the two things they look for. You could get a lower paid job, study part time and then go for a better paid job when you have the academic part sorted.
Answer3:James...Feel for you mate here!! C.V. Write it up as it is regardless of Qualifications. From your Q alone anyone can see your not stupid and were once very in control! You maybe lucky though jobs are scarce as we have to suffer this Credit Con some time yet?? BEST OF LUCK... ( I MEAN THAT BUD)
Answer4:Ill do the references bit first - quite easy to sort out I think. You can use your old clients as references and they can comment on your professionalism and abilities.Qualifications.Well after a certain time after leaving school qualifications are less important as the actual experience you have. When I apply for jobs I expect few potential employers will actually look at my GCSE results for example but more to what I do now.Do your CV emphasising the experience that you have and the position of responsibility you have held.If you are out of work at the moment then a trip to the job centre and they will have people there who can advise you on your CV - they want you to have the best chance to get back to work afterall.
Answer5:First of all, you will *need* to find at least one reference, or preferably two. Did you have employees working for you? Or what about a client? At the very least, even a friend who can verify what you have been doing should do. Otherwise no employer is going to give you a chance - you could have been in prison for the last eleven years for all they know.Next, you need to think about what sort of jobs you are applying for. You dont say what industry youve been working in or even what youve been doing, but most people who can run businesses successfully are natural networkers and therefore you could be good at sales or marketing, so apply for those sorts of jobs. But your focus needs to be about WHAT YOU CAN DO and WHAT SKILLS YOU HAVE - its no good saying things like "a high paid job and a high position of responsibility" - this doesnt mean anything and isnt going to help you focus your search.I also advise that you think about what sort of companies youre applying to. Small and medium-sized companies are more likely to take on people with backgrounds like yours, rather than large companies as they just want to see solid work experience and most importantly, to know that you can take orders from others.
Answer6:business and newshttp://yugtran.info/
Answer7:Your question does not state the field you worked in, or how you gained experience in this field, any prospective employer will only be interested in issues that will assist them to evaluate your capabilities, and if you can function harmoniously as part of a team, as loners tend to be disruptive, they would also need to know you recognise the cause of the demise of your business, and how to avoid this in the future, i:e did staff output drop through reduced management, ( you not on site or out quoting for fresh contracts) or thefts from the company, and or diverting work from the company to do as private jobs, are some of the favourite problems, (while the cats away the mice play syndrome)
Answer8:Sorry to hear that. One thing you should keep in mind is that the last 11 years havent been a waste as you learnt a lot in that time and have more skills than most folk. Being in business myself I know that you have to have many strings to your bow to be a success and your business must have been profitable at one time or you wouldnt have lasted 11 years. In my opinion you should be applying for managerial positions as any would be employer should be eager to have someone who has the initiative to work on their own, make decisions etc. even if they dont have references. You dont say what your business was but say you have sales figures or something similair that shows you have been successful you can show them that
Answer9:Take up voluntary work for a while, this will get you references and will impress an employer...you may have to aim lower if you want a job as you wont have the qualifications that other applicants have
