As a bonus Hostgator have recently gone green, which is a nice touch. They also have an easy to use control panel (Cpanel) and the first months hosting is only 0.01cents if you use a gift voucher code. That makes it easy to try out. Godaddy is good because they are such a large, trusted company and their customer service has always been good to me. Both companies are really easy to use. You can automatically install Wordpress or Joomla. So much easier than doing it manually!
