How do you control a highly creative employee

We have in our big group a highly creative employee. He is arrogant , does not follow any rules including the chain of command. However all of his suggestions were implemented and they were very bright and is allowing us to generate more profit. He is currently a clerk but he is very fragile nervously and we dont feel promoting him because of that..--Answer1:you could talk to him and explain how you wanted to promote him but your reason for not doing so are..... tell him you value his input on the team but he might cut himself of from the rest of your employees by being to outspoken, if he can manage to work on his better qualities and try to curb his bad ones tell him you would be happy to promote him in lets say 6 months review his progress? hope this helps.--Answer2:Make it a lateral move instead of a promotion. Have him report directly to the top of the chain of command. Make it clear there is no increase in authority for him, but since his ideas and suggestions seem to be making money for the company, the company is willing to listen. You might have to tie his compensation to his money-making ideas in some way. If you think he has potential, send him to some leadership classes. His arrogance and disregard for the chain of command may imply he might be able to handle more responsibility. It sounds like he certainly wants to. If he doesnt change in a positive way, you may have to let him go..--Answer3:Im a dj ilive in an aparment but my freinds all live in a house all 3 of them are also djs but 1 time while rent money was low becuase there wernt enough gigs they got a roomate he was really annoying and thought he was better than them anyway he gave them new advertising ideas and right away they starting 2-5 giggs a week each i also did them and i got more gigs to but one day they cound take his "im better than you" and my freind started screming at him he just burst into tears it cought us by surprize we never heard from him again my advice promote him he prob. fragile becuase he doesnt feel impotant to the corparation and you could always just have a talk with him but let his creative side run wild put him in a deparment were he can use all his ideas like marketing or advertisingyoutube/DJFallingstar
