Hello ,I am working in a private firm for 4 years and earned good knowledge in marketing engineering IT products.Now i want to deal some separate products ( not in our company) and sell them and want to earn some extra money in addition to continuing in same company.Is it right to do ?I am having clear business ideas..please suggest...
      Answer1:first you have to review your employment contract for any clauses that prohibits you in engaging into business or other employment. if there are no prohibitions, then go ahead but make sure you do it on your free time or else you might be suspended or worst terminated. to be safe, hire somebody to handle your new business and check on it after office hours. if you are confident of this new business that it would click and generate sustaining income, then quit your job and be your own boss.
      Answer2:Chances are, you signed a do not compete agreement. If that is the case, then you are not able to sell other companies products without there being consequences.If you are NOT doing IT products for your company, or you are not selling products that your company currently deals in, then you should have no challenges. I have done sales before, and I still have a catalog business that has nothing to do with the products that I sell for my regular company. One rule, though...I DO NOT sell my products to the companys customers... that is completely wrong on all levels.
