Do you feel bad for famiy owned grocery stores and mom and pop owned stores

I mean sometimes i feel really bad for them because wal-mart is all everyone talks about for their everyday needs i mean they even have pets, jewerly and clothes!I cant say that i dont shop there but its just so close and local...im not a hypocrite telling you not to shop their just want to know your thoughts about wal-mart and mom and pop shops. If we didnt have wal-mart alot of other people would be making easy money...and it wouldnt be so hard on the society.= (.--Answer1:yes. It would be hard on society, because of supply and demand. If you had the clout to order large quantites like wal-mart, you can offer lower prices. If you dont, you can only offer what you can afford to offer.(its okay, I misspell too, lol)yes, its bad for mom and pops, but times change. People have to roll on. Look at the small farmers versus the large "combines". If the mom and pops would redo their business plans and adjust for changing times, theuy could survive by filling niches, like maybe "organic" or speciality" or "delivery".The people who buy from Wal-mart have to live, sweetie. I cant afford to spend 5 dollars on bread from a mom and pop when I can buy Great Value bread from Wal-mart for a dollar just because I feel sorry for them. When you dont change, you get passed by.Think about cars and horses. People who don;t know computers, people who still play vinyl records. Large corps help as well as destroy.>>>youre welcome...and yes, some people do prefer to pay more and use small mom and pops, but since everyone I know is either laid off, out of work, about to be unemplyed, barely hanging on and being "underemployed" (thats when youre overqualified for doing something) or cutting back on everything from cheap pizza to new clothes, can you really justify saving a "concept" instead of your family? Its all a matter of perspective..--Answer2:my family has a "mom and pop" store, Big chain stores are hard on business at times. but we have been open for more than 70 years because of loyal small town people! we do things the big stores dont, free oil checks, free air for tires, carry out the grocerys for people that need it, and give the loyal customers credit and open up if someone calls and needs something on sundays when we are closed or late at night. Its worked for over 70 years, thanks to people who care like yourself!
