Im a government job, but trying to start and run a business, hand in hand. Both could work :).--Answer1:Government jobs are usually a sure thing. Once you finish probation, youre in. And in for good. Problem is, many, many government jobs dont have much incentive. (you become a mailman and 20 years later, youre still a mailman). In the real/private business world, many jobs have great incentive and that means plenty of room for growth with the company. And starting/owning your own business is limitless - you can go as far as your ability..--Answer2:I am a mail carrier, and, tho it is a tough job..... just got 13 inches of snow yesterday, it is a good, secure job and pays the bills. I will have a good retirement and feel pretty secure, especially with todays economy. There is little to no incentive in the job....although I take great pride in my work and defend it continually, management shows no appreciation for my efforts. It is very hard to work for someone who is always trying to make you do more for less. I cant remember the last time that I was told that I did a good job..... I do like the fact that I never have to "take my job home with me" and am able concentrate on my family and other endeavors.I am starting two other businesses on my own......I can pat myself on the back every day (I tell myself..."good job!!!!" all the time!!)
