Please read the whole thing, the question is at the bottom. I want extra money but I dont want to bug anyone for money, especially my parents, they work really hard. My family can make a lot of things like bracelets, earrings, rings, and a lot of stuff. I know how to make bracelets, but not too complicated. Of course I need to learn a little more before I start my business. I am going to ask my grandma to teach me. I have a done a lot of thinking about it. Dont laugh at me but I have a book that tells me kids how to make money. My friend is coming over tomorrow and I want to discuss it with her too and see if she would like to help. I know the store already that I am going to buy all these things from( My parents help me with everything, they are so cool and nice). My question is what are the materials I need to start this, like beads and string. Thanks if you really helped me! Merry Christmas! Oh and before I forget I only want to make bracelets and necklaces..--Answer1:YOU DONT SAY IF YOU INTEND TO MAKE REAL OR FASHION TYPE JEWELRY .----A LOT OR IT IS STRUNG ON TIGER WIRE INSTEAD OF SILK , NYLON , OR THREAD ( WHAT YOU CALL STRING )---BEST LEAVE YOUR FRIENDS OUT OF YOUR WORK PROJECTS------TOO MANY PROBLEMS OCCUR -----STICK WITH YOUR FAMILY UNTIL YOU HAVE IT RUNNING SMOOTHLY THEN HIRE YOUR FRIEND ON A PIECE RATE SYSTEM ( SO MUCH PER UNIT )-------YOU SAY YOU KNOW THE STORE YOU ARE BUYING FROM -------IF ITS A RETAIL STORE --THE PRICE WILL BE TOO HIGH TO TURN A REASONABLE PROFIT AND YOU WILL WORK FOR NOTHING ..--Answer2:Since you already have a source to buy from, you might like to make some bracelets and necklaces. Takes pictures and post at one of the online crafts communities. Below is the link. You might also get inspired to try other crafts.Best of luck! Im sure youll develop your style and grow in no time :)I got my store there, however i dont have much time to devote to online sales for the time being.--Answer3:Everyone starts out at the beginning, youre doing the research for it so it should go ok for you. Think who your market is going to be. Adults? Teens? Kids? What price range? Your materials will cost you something, so will your time. Start out with making one bracelet. Add up how much in beads that was to make, and for string, clasps, anything else that went into making it. And your packaging, if any, how much that costs. Now times that amount by six and that is your base lowest cost to sell it at.How is your packaging? Zip lock snack size baggies are good with a folded piece of card stock stapled to the top. Printing on it can be done at Office Depot, theyre cheaper than Kinkos. They also have colored card stock. Do you need a piece of card stock inside the baggie to show off the jewelry? Does that piece need to have an image printed on it too? Think about your display ideas--the packaging should look nice but not cost much. Now look at it and think is THAT price too low or too high? What can it sell for, realistically. Is it worth that amount? Will people pay that to you to get it for themselves? Sometimes youll be stuck with a design that just doesnt sell. Sometimes you have something that goes ultra fast. You should check into any of the online Kidpreneur sites, theyre for kids who are going to make their own businesses. Good stuff there.
