How do I get my money back from a Nail Salon that RIPPED ME OFF!

This is really long, but reading all of it will tell you exactly what happened.Okay, so theyre REALLY sneaky. For the people that dont know what the different types of nails are, here ya go:Acrylic Nails are much cheaper than Gel Nails. They put a powder and a liquid together to form the Acrylic which gets smoothed all over my nails. Acrylics are much more damaging for my nails. I did NOT want acrylics.Gel nails arent very good for your nails, but more gentle. Gel is done by putting a layer o Gel [NO powder] on my nails, then light-cured, then gel, then light-cured, etc.The Pricelist said:Acrylic Nails: $35Gel Nails: $70Now in these nail salons, they try and hoodwink you into thinking that Gel Nails are POWDER-gels. Basically thats another word for ACRYLICS.When I went there, I said "I am NOT getting Acrylics, right?" and he said "No no no, you are definitely getting Powder-Gels"And I said "There is NO such thing as powder gels, they are called Acrylics and I DONT want them. I want LIQUID gels"So he said "Okay"I have only READ what happens in the process of getting Acrylics and Gels, so I didnt clearly follow what he was doing. He put on a white tip, cut it to size and then covered my nail [and the tip] wth powder and purple liquid mixed together]It did NOT get light-cured.Only YESTERDAY [the day after getting nails done] did I figure ut he had scammed me.I have lost $35 and I WANT IT BACK!I, at the very, very least want the EXTRA money i spent [$35] so I will only get charged for acrylics. Really, I should be getting the whole seventy back, but i dont know. How will I go about it?Im thinking of politely coming back and saying"Excuse me, on Sunday I asked for Gel Nails, but i have obviously been ripped off as these are acrylics. I specifically asked the Nail Technitian that I did NOT want Acrylics, and he told me these were Powder-Gels that turn to liquid. Please can I get my money back?"If they refuse, I am going to feel the need to ask them to PROVEit to me that they are actually Gels.If they soak my nail in Acetone and it melts, I have acrylics. If it does not melt, I have gels.I am almost POSITIVE that I have Acrylics.I cannot believe that they have ripped off an innocent 14 year-old!I want to march in there and blast the.m.I want to tell them how unhygienic they were [uncleaned scrapers, and the nail Tech had YELLOW nails [obviously a fungal infection, NOT stain]].PLease help me.How do I go about it?And NO, I dont have a lawyer! xD.--Answer1:gather an angry mob and demand the money back.--Answer2:If you paid by credit card call the card company and start a claim.More than likely you paid cash. You can ask for the difference, if they refuse you would need to go to small claims. You will have to prove your claim in court, no proof and you will not win..--Answer3:be chill about it, its just nails. you dont have to throw a fit over it. just go back in there and be polite and ask them for your money back..--Answer4:Oh girlfriendGo in there and get ur money backYell at them and demand it!!!!! Show them whos bossI got my nails done once and the chick that did mine had NASTY nails they were yellow and ughh so nasty.. I dont want her touching me with THOSE!!!.--Answer5:Go to the place with a parent, and ask them nicely, “I’d like to speak to the manager. Is she here?” If they give you a time that they will be, say thank you, and leave. If they tell you that she is not available, and would you like to take a message, say no, I will come back when she is reachable. Then, tell her the whole story when you do meet her. Either she will refund your money and clean it off and redo it, or they will clean it off, redo it, and give you a discount the next time you go there.Hope I helped… I don’t like acrylics either. And while you are there—mention the hygiene issue too. They are VERY sensitive when it comes to the cleaning of tools..--Answer6:If you paid by credit card, you can go to the bank or call in and have a dispute put in for the amt. It will be did not get merchandise for money charged. Your parent/guardian might have to do it. You can also go online and file a Better Business Report and when it states what remedy are you seeking, you can put "full refund for giving me acrylics (and not gels) which damages my nails. Then go to www.ripoffreport.com and report them there also. If you want to approach them let them know you want a refund because of x,y and z if you paid cash. Let them know you will run it in your school paper what was done to you if you do not get your money back. Most importanly, go to a cosmetic school and see if they would be willing to write down their observations. What type of nail it is by performing the tests you mentioned. Take photos.Best yet. Fine a complaint with your state attorney general..--Answer7:Do you have a receipt to show what you paid? Test a pinky nail in acetone to confirm your suspicion. Then take the receipt and the nail to the salon and show them that you were "overcharged." Just say something like "Hi, I was here a few days ago. Acrylic nails are $35, right? Well, I paid $70 for gels but these are clearly acrylic. Id like a refund for the difference, please." Dont go in with guns blazing accusing them of anything -- start out nice, like this was a big misunderstanding, and then escalate it if it comes to that. Without a receipt, nobody can prove what you paid, so theyll say you must be mistaken. I hate to say it because I used to hate hearing it, but youll probably want an adult there to back you up. They obviously didnt mind messing with a teen, so the odds theyll take the teens complaint seriously are small, but when someone their own age is around they become much more agreeable. It isnt fair, but its the way it is. You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders -- fight the good fight, because people pull this crap on young people all the time. In the meantime, report them to your city public health department for the hygiene situation there. Their site will have a phone number to call.
