Can I get in trouble emailing my Corporate Office

I work for a big hotel grooup. I am a hotel clerk , however I have been a hotel manager before. I decided last year to help my group and send to the Corporate Office some helpful suggestions to increase our revenue. Thery were welcomed and most of my items were mutlti-million ideas. However my local management has warned me that if I continue to break the chain of command, I will be terminated. I have sent an email to the COO asking him if I could CC my email to him and he agreed. Now I NEVER got any reward , bonuses or anything from my suggestions beside thank you. Should I continue sending suggestions? My close friends are telling me that I am wasting my time with people who will never appreciated my skills and creativity because I am only a clerk..--Answer1:The problem is that your local management -- not the COO will be the ones deciding if you retain your job, get a raise or get a promotion. Because of that the answer to your question is yes.The COO isnt going to interfere with any decision they make at the local level. Yes, you are contributing valuable ideas, but for all the COO knows you might be a total washout in the performance of your assigned duties. If you want to continue making suggestions you should talk to the local management and find out what their objections are and try to come up with a solution that will satisfy them.Hope this helpsJerry-the-bookkeeper.--Answer2:Be very careful. Is this in your job description? I might try and work myself back up the ladder before I would keep suggesting new ideas. I know it may be frustrating, but I would be careful...Good luck!
