Are there any legalities surrounding doing a fundraiser for an independent film

And are there any suggestions besides donations? i would like to atleast offer someone something for their money and do plan on informing them exactly what it is for (not out for strict profit to buy a new tv or anything). I plan on following any legalites and procedures that need to take place with no shortcuts, i just wanna make sure I do this right.thank you for any input..--Answer1:I suggest you to try project payday, simply because you dont need any money up front and you can start making money within 15 minutes.
